Equipment we use. Video production equipment.

While many forms of video equipment are standard, we make use of the most appropriate gear that suites your production from Sony UWP-D11 UHF Wireless microphones as well as RODE on camera microphones such as the RODE Video Micro, other “shotgun” microphones, Panasonic cameras including Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4, as well as a range of Nikon and Canon cameras, Glidecam and Jib crane.

Business web videos and marketing videos. Equipment used.

Videos for websites and online marketing, is where many of the Glidecam and jib crane equipment would be used to add movement to the video. The Sony UWP-D11 UHF Wireless and RODE Video Micro would be used when interviews for the video are done. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 is used along with other DSLR types of cameras like Nikon and Canon to produce the main business footage and interview footage as well as B-roll footage.

While much of the same camera equipment is used such as the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4, the Jib crane is almost never used as it would be too intrusive on the environment and the audience. In high-end events such as music competitions and the like, these can be used but on a much larger scale. In most corporate events though the Jib crane would not be used but the Glidecam can be used extensively for what is known as B-Roll footage which is all the cut-away footage at the event such as people arriving or showing off the venue.

We make use of high speed Lexar Professional SDXC cards to ensure the capture of high quality high bit rate video in MOV format for quality editing. When it comes to editing, we make sure our computers are fast and reliable with i7 processors and Quadro graphics cards. Sound is also a very important part of video, which is why we use Sony A-Class amplifiers and stunning AR ( Acoustic Research ) speakers, Samson C-valve pre-amplifiers and studio condenser microphones.

 

How long does it take to make a video? Production turn-around time for video.

From first video shoot day to final product it can range from a week or so to around three weeks, depending in the content and complexity of the shoot. The number of venues that need to be filmed at, and elements that need to collected, can also affect the length of time.

Do I need to know about video production or marketing? marketing training.

You don’t need any knowledge of video or marketing. We can guide you through the entire process from start to finish. While it is helpful to have some knowledge of how video works, with our expertise and experience, you can relax knowing your video is in safe hands. No, the editing is done for you and you don’t need to be involved. Once the video is edited you will be able to watch it online and if you want to make any changes, you can email or call to offer suggestions to the edit.

Can I get props for my video? Extras for productions.

While props are available for a range of videos, most businesses find that their own business is what they want to show and not any other props. If however you want to make a video which is more conceptual or even a fun marketing video, a range of props can be supplied from simple things like furniture to extravagant props like inflatables and fun props like clothing.

While most of our work is done in Johannesburg and around Gauteng, we happily travel around South Africa and have done so for companies and Government Departments. Most of our work though is around the greater Johannesburg area as a result of that being where our clients companies are. For example many of our industrial clients are in the east rand and west rand including Germiston, Boksburg as well as areas like Kai Sands. Many of our corporate clients are in Sandton , Midrand, Fourways and Randburg which means our corporate videos will be done there. We also travel for our Johannesburg clients who have branches in outlying areas of South Africa.

What music can I have in my video? Copyright free music for video.

It is important to understand that music can have copyrights attached to it or be copyright free and even be “public domain”. We provide corporate music which is copyright free to be sure that you have no copyright issues especially when using your video on online platforms such as YouTube.

Do I get the raw footage of the video? Unedited video footage.

In most cases, the raw footage is of no real value to the client as they might not know how to edit it or have someone who could edit it. The final video product is what more than most people want. If however you do want the raw footage or only want a video shoot where the raw footage is supplied without editing, they can be arranged for you.

What extras are available? production extras.

There are many extras available. These include drone video footage, broadcast video and even specialized vehicle hire. These extras, though, don’t normally form part of a standard corporate video but are available should you want them.

Do you provide still images as well? Photographs and photography.

Yes we can supply either a combination of video and still images or still photography on its own. The still photography can be for products and equipment, business and event photography. These images can form part of the video or be used completely separately such as for web images and print.
